This is one of my favorite places to eat whether it's in Capitola or Aptos. I absolutely love it and it's always a great price. I can never go wrong. The service is always nice and friendly. It's always great food.

I ordered the falafel wrap and calamari. The falafel was soft and crispy and the calamari was cooked perfectly and crispy. The guy who took my order was friendly and answered my questions regarding the menu. The inside was not busy and the seating areas were clean.

I ordered the gyro wrap. Isn't that redundant? Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I was not impressed. Actually, the size of the wrap was impressive, but there was way too much lettuce and not enough tzatziki. There was plenty of meat (beef/lamb strips). My daughter ordered the falafel wrap. She was disappointed that they falafels weren't fried to a crisp. The sweet potato fries were hot and perfectly fried. I really enjoyed the dipping sauce. I have no idea what it was, but I gave them an extra star for trying something different. I may go back someday to try something else.

This is my daughter's and her husband's favorite place to get Mediterranean food in Santa Cruz (CA), but they don't go there often as Pleasure Point isn't too close to their house. So, the opportunity to introduce her parents to this restaurant and to take their new baby on an outdoors excursion seemed like a winning combination -- especially as the restaurant offers outdoors seating! (Late July, 2024). Zameen's, which has two locations, at Pleasure Point in Santa Cruz and in Aptos, advertises having "a California twist on Mediterranean street food." We ordered an excellent appetizer to share, Feta Fries ($7.50), which features Greek style fries with garlic and feta. Our daughter warned us that portion sizes are large, so my husband and I ordered a single entree to share (as did my daughter and her husband). We got a Gyros BOWL ($15.50). The bowl included seasoned beef and lamb served over your choice of saffron rice or pearl couscous with cranberries, and almonds (we chose the latter), with mixed greens, pickled red onion, cucumbers, tomatoes, feta, and tzatziki sauce. My daughter and SIL shared a Gyros SALAD ($17).00), also with seasoned beef and lamb, but served over mixed greens, pickled red onion, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, olives, garbanzo beans, and feta, with a green onion yogurt sauce and a preserved lemon vinaigrette. (The salad does not include a grain). Choices can also be ordered as a wrap, and other proteins (chicken, falafel, etc.) are available). In all cases, the food was delicious and the serving sizes of each entree were more than sufficient for two persons, but remembering that we also shared an appetizer. We also ordered cans of soda ($2.50 each); beer and wine are also available. The outdoor seating was perfect on a warm afternoon, and allowed the baby to fuss if she chose to do so -- but she didn't! (July, 2024).

Nice looking place with some seating outside. You order up front and then they bring it to you, which was nice. The menu is great with wraps, salads or bowls with whatever protein you want. They had chicken, gyro, lamb and falafal. I ordered the gyro wrap, which was a nice size with some great pickled onions. My son got the lamb burger with fries (great fries). My wife and daughter got the gyro bowls and they liked them a lot. I recommend it!

Close to the beach in a hip street. The food was ok. My husband loved his chicken wrap, however I didn't appreciate the spice flavors as much. The dolmas were a little harder and less lemony than I like too. The fast casual atmosphere was very clean and nice, though there isn't a lot of seating. There are lot of nice stores nearby and ice cream across the street.

It was my first time there. The staff was very nice and the restaurant was clean and the food came pretty quickly for a busy evening. The salad was DELISH!!! Also there was a nice large amount of chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the portion size overall was huge. I'll definitely be back.

We were on our way to grab a light lunch near the Penny's here and landed on Zameen. Both food and reviews looked great on Yelp and it's literally across Penny's so it was the perfect lunch spot. It seemed pretty popular with locals too. We came after 1PM on a Saturday and there was still a good amount of people. We ordered at the counter, was given a number, and food is served when ready. Otherwise, for water and such, it's self-service. For myself, I got a Veggie Bowl under their Specialty menu, and for our table of three, we got some Sweet Potato Fries to share. There's both indoor and outdoor seats available, and thankfully the weather today was awesome, so we sat outside to enjoy our lunch. Food came pretty quickly and I'm surprised at how big these bowls are. The sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Surprisingly, it wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be for sweet potato fries, but it goes really well with the dipping sauce. My partner described the sauce as sort of like a chipotle sauce, while I can only describe it as a thick salsa. The sauce was pretty darn good and the fries were made well! I'm glad we ordered this to share. It was enjoyed by everyone. I was also surprised with how big my Veggie Bowl turned out to be. It was loaded. It comes with tons of seasonal veggies. Some of which I wasn't able to identify, but I know there were brussel sprouts (bonus points because I love these!), carrots, sweet potatoes, onions, cauliflower, some mixed greens, sunflower seeds, pearl couscous, and topped with a generous amount of lemon tahini sauce. There was so much going on in there, lots of different textures, but everything just mixes well together. I liked the crunchiness of the brussel sprouts and cauliflower, but also the soft bites from the couscous. The mixed greens were really fresh too. It was a really comforting and satisfying bowl. I didn't finish my whole bowl, but I'm definitely glad I get to bring some home! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comforting and/or healthy bite! I don't make it to Santa Cruz often, but I would definitely like to visit this place again! Though it was mostly self serve, the staff here were really friendly!

TL;DR: Chipotle-vibe quick Mediterranean option on 41st. Large portions and good value Ordered: - Calamari (4/5): decent fry texture on the squid - Hummus (3/5): pita was cold and a little stiff but the hummus itself was good - Lamb bowl w everything (4/5): really flavorful lamb meat and large portion of saffron rice make a great base for any meal. The fresh and pickled veggies were welcome bursts of flavor, as well Overall, clean and quick Mediterranean grub - we'll be back! Cheers, Zameen!

Really really yummy! I've visited their Aptos location once and had an amazing time. They give good portions for the price and have a variety for all types of diets. I've tried the veggie bowl, hummus, falafel bowl w rice, Moroccan soup, and feta fries! Everything is delicious and sooooo fresh. My only complaint is that the hummus bowl comes with so few pieces of flatbread that we had to order more. I feel like with such a large bowl of hummus, there should totally be more flat bread!
